We were chosen to complete a varied metalworks package which comprised roof access ladders, galvanised flow forge open deck steel flooring and a feature taxi shelter. In collaboration with our sister company In Granite (Recon) Ltd., we also provided cast stone benches in a serpentine layout, complete with stainless steel anti-skate fins.
We were particularly pleased with the taxi shelter which was designed, fabricated and installed by us. The construction was steel, galvanised and powder coated to customer specification, and glass. The hollow section steel posts and roof support arms had to be tapered and have crisp, sharp corners which could not be achieved with standard hollow section. We believe the finished shelter was worth the extra effort, especially given the prominent position near the front entrance of the shopping centre.
