The Grange
Coughlan Engineering (Tullamore) Ltd completed a large scale metalworks package at the Grange Apartments in Stillorgan, encompassing steel and glass balcony balustrades, similar spec guardrails to the terrace and podium garden. We also manufactured and installed internal “post & panel” stair balustrades made from stainless steel support posts and handrails and toughened glass infill panels.
The Grange is a prestigious high density suburban residential development located within easy reach of Dublin city centre, Dun Laoghaire, Dundrum and Sandyford.
We designed a steel balcony with a full picture frame around toughened and laminated glass panels. The scope of the project was extensive because of the scale and density of the project.
Internally, we love using the arrangement comprising stainless steel posts with glass clamps to grip infill glass panels. It’s a detail which looks premium but is more affordable than plain fully welded mild steel balustrades because the components are so lightweight in comparison and the design lends itself to allowing for site tolerances with inherent adjustability.
